Description
The C104TS7 is a quartz screw-top cuvette with 10 mm path length and two-way light optical configuration — two opposite vertical faces are polished to optical grade, forming the standard transmission geometry for UV-Vis absorbance measurements. With a 3.5 ml internal volume (10 × 10 × 43 mm chamber), the cell is compatible with most commercial spectrophotometers. Fabricated using Molded 83 (>83% transmittance) — precision-molded from a single piece of quartz, eliminating adhesive joints entirely. The PTFE-lined screw cap threads securely onto the cuvette, providing a leak-proof seal that prevents evaporation of volatile solvents and protects air-sensitive samples. The threaded closure allows safe inversion mixing and sample transport without spills.

Why Two-Way Light?
two-way light cuvettes have all four vertical faces polished to optical grade, enabling both standard absorbance measurements and 90° fluorescence detection geometry. The excitation beam enters through one face while emission is collected at right angles through an adjacent face — the standard configuration required by fluorimeters and spectrofluorometers.
Why a PTFE-Lined Screw Cap?
The internal-thread screw cap design provides the most secure closure available for standard cuvettes. Unlike friction-fit caps or stoppers, the threaded connection resists accidental opening during sample handling, vortex mixing, or transport. The PTFE liner ensures chemical inertness and a tight seal against vapour loss — critical when working with volatile organic solvents, concentrated acids, or extended kinetic measurements. The screw cap can be repeatedly removed and replaced without degradation.
Why Molded 83?
Molded 83 cuvettes are precision-molded from a single piece of quartz with no adhesive joints, achieving >83% transmittance. They withstand all common laboratory solvents, concentrated acids, and bases (avoid HF) — the most chemically resistant option available.
- Rinse with a compatible solvent (e.g., ethanol or the measurement solvent) before first use to remove any residual particles.
- Do not use abrasive materials or brushes on the polished optical faces — wipe gently with lens tissue.
- Withstands all common laboratory solvents, concentrated acids, and bases. Avoid HF (hydrofluoric acid).
- Store in the original protective case to prevent scratches on the optical windows.
- For baseline correction, fill with your reference solvent, cap the cuvette, and run a blank before sample measurements.
