Description

The C204CS is a quartz fluorescence sample cell with 20/50mm path length and four-way light optical configuration — all four vertical faces are polished to optical grade, enabling both standard UV-Vis absorbance and 90° fluorescence detection. With a 40ml internal volume (50 × 20 × 50 mm chamber), the cell is compatible with most commercial spectrophotometers. Fabricated using Sintered 83 (>83% transmittance) — high-temperature sintered to fuse quartz panels without adhesive. Features the large 20/50mm rectangular fluorescence format providing 40ml volume with clear four-window construction for high-volume fluorescence applications.

Why Four-Way Light?

Four-way light cuvettes have all four vertical faces polished to optical grade, enabling both standard absorbance measurements and 90° fluorescence detection geometry. The excitation beam enters through one face while emission is collected at right angles through an adjacent face — the standard configuration required by fluorimeters and spectrofluorometers.

Why Open Top?

This cuvette features an open-top design without a cap or cover, providing unrestricted access to the sample chamber for easy filling, mixing, and cleaning. The open design is ideal for workflows requiring frequent sample changes, titration experiments, or when using dip probes and fiber-optic accessories that need direct access to the liquid surface.

Why Sintered 83?

Sintered 83 uses high-temperature sintering to fuse quartz panels without adhesive, delivering >83% UV transmittance from 200–2500 nm. The sintered joints are chemically inert and compatible with strong acids, bases, and most organic solvents (excluding HF and aggressive organics such as toluene and acetone). This fabrication is ideal for analytical workflows involving harsh chemical matrices where standard glued cells would degrade.

Usage Tips

  • Rinse with a compatible solvent (e.g., ethanol or the measurement solvent) before first use to remove any residual particles.
  • Do not use abrasive materials or brushes on the polished optical faces — wipe gently with lens tissue.
  • Compatible with strong acids, bases, and most organic solvents (excluding HF and aggressive organics such as toluene and acetone).
  • Store in the original protective case to prevent scratches on the optical windows.
  • For baseline correction, fill with your reference solvent, and run a blank before sample measurements.
