Quartz 10mm Fluorescence Flow Cuvette, 250µl, Standard 80, Three-Way Light, 1pc/ea, C103WS1
Description
The C103WS1 is a quartz fluorescence flow cuvette with 10 mm path length and three-way light optical configuration — three vertical faces are polished to optical grade, supporting 90° fluorescence geometry with reduced scattered light from the non-polished face. With an ultra-micro 250 µl internal volume (10 × 10 × 43 mm chamber), the cell is designed for continuous-flow and stopped-flow fluorescence measurements. Fabricated using Standard 80 (>80% transmittance) — assembled with optical-grade adhesive for reliable performance with aqueous samples. As a flow cell, this cuvette features inlet and outlet ports for connection to pumps, autosamplers, or flow-injection systems — no cap is included or required.

Flow Cell & Fluorescence Applications
Why Three-Way Light?
The three-way configuration polishes three vertical faces to optical grade while leaving the fourth face frosted or unpolished. This reduces scattered excitation light reaching the detector in 90° geometry, improving signal-to-noise ratio for weakly fluorescent samples. The unpolished rear face acts as a light trap, minimizing back-reflections that can contribute to background fluorescence.
Flow Cell Design
This fluorescence flow cuvette features inlet and outlet ports that connect to tubing for continuous sample delivery. The flow-through design eliminates the need for a cap or stopper — sample is introduced via a pump, autosampler, or gravity-fed system and exits through the outlet port. This configuration is ideal for real-time monitoring of fluorescent analytes in flowing streams, stopped-flow kinetics experiments, and integration with liquid chromatography or flow-injection analysis systems. The 250 µl internal volume ensures rapid sample exchange and minimal dead volume.
Why Standard 80 Construction?
Standard 80 cuvettes are assembled using optical-grade adhesive to bond precision quartz panels, achieving transmittance >80% at 200–2500 nm. This fabrication method delivers reliable optical performance at an accessible price point — ideal for routine fluorescence measurements with aqueous samples. Standard 80 cuvettes are intended for use with aqueous (water-based) solutions only; organic solvents, strong acids, or strong bases may attack the adhesive joints. For solvent-resistant applications, consider Sintered 83 or Molded 83 alternatives.
