Select Optical Path Length
The distance light travels through your sample. Standard spectrophotometry uses 10 mm. Choose shorter paths for concentrated samples, longer paths for trace-level detection.
Choose Sample Volume
Semi-micro cuvettes hold 350–1750 µL in a narrower inner chamber. Standard cuvettes accommodate 1.5–3.5 mL. Micro cuvettes (≤100 µL) are available in Standard 80 construction.
Set Wavelength Range
Determines the required quartz grade. JGS1 (170–2500 nm) is needed for UV and deep-UV work. JGS3 (260–3500 nm) covers NIR and IR applications. MQ does not stock JGS2.
Pick Application Environment
Organic solvents, strong acids, or high temperatures require Sintered 80 or Molded 83 construction. Routine aqueous measurements are fine with Standard 80.
Dimensions shown are based on standard industry specifications and typical MQ product configurations. For non-standard path lengths, custom geometries, OEM volumes, or flow cell ports, contact MachinedQuartz for a custom quote. Learn more about fabrication types on our Fabrication Method page.
