30 mL Ground-Neck Quartz Reagent Bottle: Closure and Sampling Access
CUSTOM DESIGN GUIDE · MQM425
MQM425 is a nominal 30 mL quartz reagent bottle with a broad, frosted ground neck in the reference form. The neck is a mating surface, not a screw thread. It is a starting point for a sample-handling arrangement that considers the closure, loading tool and rack together.

The neck determines how a closure meets the bottle
A threaded cap follows a screw interface. A ground-neck arrangement uses a different contact geometry. The broad frosted region on this reference identifies that distinction, so an existing threaded cap is not selected simply from the bottle's nominal volume.
A proposed closure should be described by the part that mates with the neck and the contact it is meant to make. The reference form does not show a supplied stopper. The bottle body and an intended closure are therefore separate parts of the handling design.
MQM425 configuration
A broad opening is useful only if it remains accessible
The opening can be discussed around the actual filling or sampling tool. Its outside appearance is less informative than the route the tool needs through the neck and down into the bottle. The proposed method gives that access a purpose.
A rack may locate the body successfully yet leave too little room above the neck. Closure removal, tool entry and lifting the bottle each use that overhead space differently. A side view of the bottle in the rack makes those requirements easier to see.
Keep working fill and storage arrangement distinct
The nominal 30 mL capacity identifies the listed vessel; it is not the operating fill for every method. The intended amount, sample and storage orientation belong beside the selected closure. A material choice for the body alone cannot describe the entire sample-contact arrangement.
For a setup that must retain a screw cap, a different neck would be a deliberate custom change. For one built around a ground mating part, the useful work is to define that interface and keep access above the rack.
A custom example: keep the rack and make room to remove the closure
ILLUSTRATIVE DESIGN EXAMPLE
Suppose the bottle body fits an existing rack but a proposed ground closure cannot be lifted clear. A revised neck or body layout can be defined around the rack and mating part while retaining the required working amount. The change concerns the handling sequence as well as the closed height.
