Using this cell

Fill the cell from the top and make sure the liquid level fully covers the beam during measurement. If bubbles are present in the optical path, let them clear before reading. Handle the cell by the non-optical surfaces to keep the light path clean.

The PTFE cover is useful when you want to cover the opening between filling and measurement or during ordinary bench handling. It is a cover for the open top, not a pressure closure or a stated leak-tight assembly.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces for dust, residue or transport marks.
Test the dry fit in your holder before filling.
Run a blank with the liquid used in your method.
Check that the filled sample level fully covers the beam in the measurement position.

Fit and optical alignment

The recorded external dimensions describe the uncapped body only. In practice, the 100 mm path length means you should check both holder clearance for the body length and the vertical space above the opening if you plan to use the cover in place.

Solvents and cleaning

This ordinary option is intended for neutral samples. Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning methods.
