Using this cell

Install the cell with the body supported and connect the tubing without using the projecting tubes as lifting or clamping points. Fill the circuit slowly so the sample region wets evenly, then inspect the optical area for bubbles before taking a blank or starting a run.

The nominal 24 µL figure refers to the cell itself. It does not include the extra liquid held in connected tubing, and it should not be treated as a minimum working volume.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces and tube ends for chips, contamination or transit damage.
Confirm that the holder leaves the required light faces unobstructed.
Fill with a suitable blank, remove visible bubbles and repeat the blank after the flow path has stabilised.

Fit and optical alignment

The full external dimensions are 6 × 5 × 17 mm, and the cell body itself is 6 × 5 × 7 mm. Internal dimensions are 4 × 2 × 3 mm. These figures are useful for holder clearance and connection access in compact fixtures.

The 7 mm body dimension is not a stated Z Height. If your instrument depends on a defined beam-center height, check that point before ordering. In small fluorescence setups, connection orientation and holder contact points can matter as much as the nominal optical path.

Solvents and cleaning

This cell uses Molded 83 fabrication. This type is often selected for methods involving organic solvents or temperature-related conditions, but cleaning and sample compatibility should be assessed for the complete wetted assembly rather than the quartz body alone.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning. Clean the exterior optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue.
