Description

The C054CS is a quartz black wall fluorescent cuvette with 5mm path length and four-way light optical configuration — all four vertical faces are polished to optical grade, enabling both standard UV-Vis absorbance and 90° fluorescence detection. With a 875ul internal volume (5 × 5 × 43 mm chamber), the cell is compatible with most commercial spectrophotometers. Fabricated using Standard 80 (>80% transmittance) — precision-glued quartz construction, an industry-proven assembly method. Showcases distinctive black-walled construction with four narrow clear optical windows, effectively masking stray light while maintaining full four-way fluorescence capability. Why Four-Way Light?

Four-way light cuvettes have all four vertical faces polished to optical grade, enabling both standard absorbance measurements and 90° fluorescence detection geometry. The excitation beam enters through one face while emission is collected at right angles through an adjacent face — the standard configuration required by fluorimeters and spectrofluorometers.

This cuvette features an open-top design without a cap or cover, providing unrestricted access to the sample chamber for easy filling, mixing, and cleaning. Standard 80 offers a cost-effective entry point with reliable, repeatable results under normal operating conditions.

Usage Tips

Rinse with a compatible solvent (e.g., ethanol or the measurement solvent) before first use to remove any residual particles.
Do not use abrasive materials or brushes on the polished optical faces — wipe gently with lens tissue.
Suitable for aqueous (water-based) solutions only. Do not use with organic solvents, strong acids, or strong bases.
Store in the original protective case to prevent scratches on the optical windows.
For baseline correction, fill with your reference solvent, and run a blank before sample measurements.
