Precision 20mm quartz cuvette for UV-Vis & NIR spectroscopy (190–2500 nm). Two-way light optical windows, 7 ml capacity, PTFE cap, data-matched for research-grade accuracy. Molded 83 one-piece construction ensures path length tolerance of ±0.02 mm — the tightest in the industry. The extended 20mm path length doubles sensitivity for dilute samples compared to standard 10mm cells. Pack of Two for parallel experiments. SKU: C202CE5
Description
The C202CE5 is a precision quartz standard cuvette with 20mm path length and two-way light optical windows, designed for UV-Vis and NIR spectrophotometry (190–2500 nm). The two-way light configuration transmits the beam through two opposing polished optical faces, delivering clean baseline performance for absorbance measurements. Fabricated using Molded 83 — an integrally fused one-piece construction with no adhesive or joints — this cuvette achieves a path length tolerance of ±0.02 mm, withstands temperatures up to 1200 °C, and resists all common laboratory solvents, acids, and bases. Includes a PTFE cap for chemical-resistant sealing. Supplied as a pack of two for cost-effective parallel or comparative experiments.

Applications
Why 20mm Path Length?
A 20mm optical path doubles the effective absorbance reading compared to a standard 10mm cell (Beer–Lambert law: A = εlc). This makes the C202CE5 particularly valuable when working with dilute solutions, trace analytes, or weakly absorbing compounds where a 10mm cell may not provide sufficient signal-to-noise ratio. The longer path length is also preferred in environmental testing and water quality analysis where sample concentrations are inherently low.
Why Molded 83 Construction?
Molded 83 is the premium fabrication method: the cuvette is integrally fused as a single piece with no adhesive or joints. This eliminates solvent attack points and enables operation up to 1200 °C — far exceeding sintered (600 °C) or glue-assembled (200 °C) alternatives. The one-piece construction also delivers a path length variation of just ±0.02 mm, ensuring the highest level of reproducibility and batch-to-batch data matching for quantitative analysis. With transmittance >83%, Molded 83 is the gold standard for demanding research applications.
