Applications
Used in muffle furnaces for laboratory analysis and melting of metallic and non-metallic samples, and for chemical and industrial analysis.
Handling and Care
- Before first use, dry the crucible in an oven at approximately 105 °C for 120 minutes to remove moisture.
- Control heating and cooling rates: keep below 5 °C per minute under 1200 °C and below 4 °C per minute above 1200 °C.
- Maintain a distance greater than 5 cm between the crucible and heating elements such as carbon tubes, silicon-molybdenum rods or heating wire.
- Do not heat directly with a gasoline torch, acetylene torch or alcohol blowtorch.
