Handling and Care

• Before first use, dry the crucible in an oven at approximately 105 °C for about 120 minutes to remove moisture.
• Control heating and cooling rates: below 1200 °C keep to less than 5 °C per minute; above 1200 °C keep to less than 4 °C per minute.
• Keep the crucible more than 5 cm from heating elements such as carbon tubes, silicon-molybdenum rods or heating wire.
• Do not apply direct flame from a gasoline torch, acetylene torch or alcohol blowlamp.
