Handling and Care

• Raise and lower temperature gradually: below 1200 °C keep the rate under 5 °C per minute, and above 1200 °C under 4 °C per minute.
• Keep the crucible more than 5 cm from heating elements such as carbon tubes, silicon-molybdenum rods or heating wires.
• Before first use, dry the crucible in an oven at about 105 °C for 120 minutes to remove moisture.
• Do not heat directly with a gasoline torch, acetylene torch or alcohol blowtorch.
