Applications

Used for melting and preparing metal and non-metal samples in laboratory analysis and various industrial analytical work, including muffle-furnace processing.

Handling and Care

• Heat and cool gradually: below 1200 °C keep the rate under 5 °C/min; above 1200 °C keep the rate under 4 °C/min.
• Maintain a distance greater than 5 cm between the crucible and heating elements such as carbon tubes, silicon-molybdenum rods or heating wire.
• Before first use, dry the crucible in an oven at approximately 105 °C for 120 minutes to remove moisture.
• Do not heat directly with a gasoline torch, acetylene torch or alcohol blowtorch.
