Handling and Care

• Before first use, dry the crucible in an oven at approximately 105 °C for 120 minutes to remove moisture.
• Control heating and cooling rates: below 1200 °C keep the rate under 5 °C/min; above 1200 °C keep the rate under 4 °C/min, taking particular care with large crucibles.
• Maintain a distance greater than 5 cm between the crucible and heating elements such as carbon tubes, silicon-molybdenum rods or heating wires.
• Do not apply direct flame heating from gasoline torches, acetylene torches or alcohol blow lamps.
