Handling and Care

• Before first use, bake in an oven at about 105 °C for 120 minutes to remove moisture.
• Do not heat with an open flame, and do not heat directly with a gasoline torch, acetylene torch or alcohol lamp.
• Keep heating and cooling rates gradual; below 1200 °C use a heating rate under 5 °C/min, and above 1200 °C use a cooling rate under 4 °C/min.
• Maintain a distance of more than 5 cm between the crucible and the heating element.
