Handling and Care

• Bake in an oven at approximately 105 °C for 120 minutes before first use to remove moisture.
• Do not heat with an open flame, and do not apply direct heat from a gasoline torch, acetylene torch or alcohol lamp.
• Keep heating and cooling rates gradual; the rate should be under 4 °C per minute, and below 1200 °C the ramp rate should stay under 5 °C per minute.
• Maintain a distance of more than 5 cm between the crucible and the heating element.
