Applications
- Laboratory analysis of metal and non-metal samples.
- Melting and fusion of sample material.
- High-temperature work in muffle furnaces.
- General laboratory and industrial analysis.
Handling and Care
- Before first use, bake the crucible in an oven at approximately 105 °C for 120 minutes to remove moisture.
- Do not heat with an open flame or with a gasoline, acetylene or alcohol torch.
- Keep heating and cooling rates gradual; limit the rate to less than 5 °C/minute below 1200 °C and less than 4 °C/minute above 1200 °C.
- Maintain a distance of more than 5 cm between the crucible and the heating element.
- Do not rest the crucible base directly on the furnace floor; support it on a heat-resistant standoff to allow air circulation.
