IR Quartz (JGS3) 3mm Standard Cuvette, 1.05ml, Sintered 83, Two-Way Light, PTFE Cap, 1pc/ea, C032CR3
Description
The C032CR3 is a IR quartz (JGS3 fused silica) standard cuvette with 3 mm path length and two-way light optical windows, designed for UV-Vis-NIR and mid-IR spectrophotometry across 260–3500 nm. The two-way light configuration transmits the beam through two opposing polished optical faces while the two frosted sides minimize stray light interference and internal reflections, delivering clean baseline performance for absorbance measurements. Fabricated using Sintered 83 — a high-temperature sintering process at 600 °C that fuses quartz components without adhesive — this cuvette achieves >83% transmittance with excellent chemical resistance to acids, bases, and organic solvents. The sintered bond withstands repeated thermal cycling without degradation. Includes a PTFE cap for chemical-resistant sealing.

Applications
Why This Cuvette?
The two-way light configuration (two polished optical faces, two frosted sides) provides clean absorbance measurements with minimal stray light. The frosted faces reduce internal reflections and scattering, improving baseline stability and signal-to-noise ratio — particularly important for low-absorbance measurements near the detection limit. The 3 mm path length reduces absorbance by 3× compared to a standard 10 mm cuvette (Beer-Lambert law: A = εlc), making it well-suited for moderately concentrated samples that would saturate a longer-path cell. The JGS3 IR quartz material extends useful transmission well beyond conventional UV quartz, covering the full 260–3500 nm range for NIR and mid-IR applications where standard fused silica would absorb.
