Description
C402CE1 is a 40 mm path JGS1 quartz standard cuvette supplied as an export-pack set of two. It combines a Two-Way Light transmission layout with a 14 mL nominal capacity and an open-top body, so you can fill the cell directly and cover it with the supplied lid during routine bench handling. This option is useful when you want the same long-path format in a two-cuvette sale unit rather than a single piece.
Choose this option
Choose C402CE1 when your method calls for a 40 mm standard cuvette and you prefer the export-pack two-piece offer. The open top makes filling, rinsing and sample inspection straightforward, while the lid covers the opening after filling. With 14 mL nominal capacity, this model suits methods that can use a relatively large sample fill in a standard rectangular transmission cell.
What makes this option different
- Export-pack sale unit: supplied as 2 cuvettes per listed price unit, rather than a single-cell offer.
- 40 mm optical path: intended for methods written for a longer transmission path in a standard cuvette format.
- Two-Way Light layout: the beam passes through two opposing optical faces in a standard transmission setup.
- Open-top access with lid: direct top filling and visual sample checking before placing the cover.
- 14 mL nominal capacity: suited to applications where the beam region is covered by a comparatively full sample column.
- Storage box included: this export-pack option includes a box with the cuvettes and lids.
Using this cell
Fill each cuvette from the open top and make sure the liquid level covers the beam region used by your instrument. Remove visible bubbles before measurement, and keep the same orientation for blank and sample if your procedure relies on repeatable positioning.
The lid is a cover for routine handling after filling. It should not be treated as a pressure-rated or leak-tested closure.
First-use check
- Inspect both cuvettes, lids and the storage box for shipping damage or residue.
- Test one empty cell in your holder before preparing the full set of samples.
- After rinsing with a suitable liquid for your method, confirm that the filled sample covers the beam region without bubbles.
Fit and optical alignment
This is a standard rectangular cuvette body for transmission measurements in a compatible holder. The verified body height to the open rim is 45 mm without the lid fitted, so allow extra vertical clearance if you plan to measure with the lid in place.
Z Height is not established for this SKU. If your spectrometer, holder or accessory depends on a fixed beam height, check that requirement separately rather than assuming fit from the general body shape.
Solvents and cleaning
The quartz cell is described for methods involving acids, alkalis and organic liquids, but exact suitability depends on the specific chemical, concentration, temperature, contact time and every wetted component in your setup. The supplied lids are included, but full assembled compatibility for all conditions is not established here.
Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning. Wipe the optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue, and use a cleaning liquid appropriate to your method.
Included with this option
2 cuvettes per listed price unit. Closure included.
Availability and ordering
Order this specification directly, or contact us to check current availability and dispatch timing. If temporarily unavailable, additional preparation or production time may be needed. For a required delivery date, contact us before checkout; preparation or production is separate from carrier transit and customs clearance.
Discuss a custom version
We coordinate custom JGS1 quartz production for requirements involving dimensions, optical path length, sample volume, optical windows or Z Height, closures and connections, fabrication and tolerances. Send a dimensioned drawing or labelled sketch and identify the dimensions and tolerances that are critical to your application. Prototype batches typically involve 2–4 cells; the final quantity, feasibility, specifications, price and production time are confirmed in the project quotation. Modified designs and prototype batches are quoted separately from the listed SKU. Discuss your requirements.
