Description
The C104CS58 is a quartz fluorescence cuvette sample chamber with 10mm path length and four-way light optical configuration — all four vertical faces are polished to optical grade, enabling both standard UV-Vis absorbance and 90° fluorescence detection. With a 100ul internal volume (10 × 10 × 43 mm chamber), the cell is compatible with most commercial spectrophotometers. Fabricated using Standard 80 (>80% transmittance) — precision-glued quartz construction, an industry-proven assembly method. The friction-fit PTFE cap serves as a dust cover that keeps particulates out of the sample during measurements. Features an innovative internal sample chamber design where a raised quartz platform inside the standard cuvette body creates a 100ul micro-well, visible through the clear walls. The PTFE cap sits beside the open-top cuvette for easy filling access.

Why Four-Way Light?
Four-way light cuvettes have all four vertical faces polished to optical grade, enabling both standard absorbance measurements and 90° fluorescence detection geometry. The excitation beam enters through one face while emission is collected at right angles through an adjacent face — the standard configuration required by fluorimeters and spectrofluorometers.
Why a PTFE Cap?
The friction-fit PTFE cap serves as a dust cover that keeps particulates and contaminants out of the sample during measurements. PTFE is chemically inert and will not leach absorbing compounds into the sample. While not airtight, the cap reduces evaporation during short measurement cycles and protects the optical surfaces when the cuvette is stored.
Why Standard 80?
Standard 80 uses precision-glued quartz construction — an industry-proven assembly method delivering >80% UV transmittance from 200–2500 nm. The optical adhesive bond is optimized for aqueous (water-based) solutions, making this fabrication ideal for routine spectrophotometry, QC testing, and educational labs where the sample matrix is known and gentle. Standard 80 offers a cost-effective entry point with reliable, repeatable results under normal operating conditions.
- Rinse with a compatible solvent (e.g., ethanol or the measurement solvent) before first use to remove any residual particles.
- Do not use abrasive materials or brushes on the polished optical faces — wipe gently with lens tissue.
- Suitable for aqueous (water-based) solutions only. Do not use with organic solvents, strong acids, or strong bases.
- Store in the original protective case to prevent scratches on the optical windows.
- For baseline correction, fill with your reference solvent, cap the cuvette, and run a blank before sample measurements.
