C104SS4 is a rectangular sample cell for UV/Vis spectroscopy with a 10 mm optical path, 3.5 mL nominal capacity and a long tube-neck opening. This version combines a 12.5 × 12.5 mm base with a Four-Way Light configuration, so it is well suited to setups where you need optical access from more than one side around the sample region while keeping a standard 10 mm transmission path.

Choose C104SS4 when your measurement setup needs a rectangular quartz cell with access through four side faces rather than only two. The long upper neck keeps filling access above the main body, while the 8 mm outer diameter is also worth checking if the cell has to pass through a guide, lid opening or fixture above the holder.

Using this cell

Fill the cell through the neck and make sure the sample level covers the active beam area in the orientation you plan to use. Remove bubbles before measurement and keep the outside optical faces clean, especially if your setup uses more than one viewing direction around the body.

The listed 3.5 mL value is a nominal capacity. If your method depends on a limited fill height or a tightly defined beam position, check the filled sample region in your own instrument.

First-use check

Inspect all optical faces and the neck opening for dust, residue or handling marks before first use. Rinse with a cleaning liquid suitable for your method, test the cell in the holder, and run a blank in the intended orientation before measuring samples.

Fit and optical alignment

The body footprint is 12.5 × 12.5 mm, with a 45 mm body height and a 95 mm overall length including the neck. That longer upper section can help with access, but it also means vertical clearance above the holder should be checked carefully.

Z Height is not listed for this option. If your holder or instrument has a fixed beam-center requirement, verify that alignment point before ordering rather than assuming compatibility from the external size.

Solvents and cleaning

This cell uses Molded 83 fabrication. This construction is commonly selected for methods that may involve organic solvents or temperature-controlled work, but actual suitability still depends on the chemical, concentration, temperature and contact time in your process.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning materials, and clean the optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue.
