C104SS5 is a JGS1 quartz rectangular sample cell for UV/Vis spectroscopy with a 10 mm optical path, Four-Way Light layout and a long tube-neck opening. This version combines a 12.5 × 12.5 mm base and 3.5 mL nominal capacity with a 95 mm overall length and a transition section in the upper tube assembly, which makes the full shape important when planning access and clearance around the holder.

Choose C104SS5 when you need four-side optical access around the sample region and you also want sample entry through a narrow upper neck rather than a plain open top. The longer upper assembly is useful where the cell body sits in a holder but the access point, guide opening or surrounding hardware is above it.

Using this cell

Fill the sample through the neck so the liquid level covers the beam area during use. Remove visible bubbles before measurement, and keep the outside optical faces clean and consistently oriented if your method depends on a defined viewing direction.

The stated 3.5 mL is the nominal capacity of the cell. It is not a minimum working volume, so methods that run with limited sample height should be checked in the actual instrument.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces and neck opening for dust or handling marks, rinse with a cleaning liquid suitable for your process, and test fit the cell before routine use. A blank run is a practical first check for alignment, fill level and handling cleanliness.

Fit and optical alignment

The cell body uses a 12.5 × 12.5 mm base, with a body height of 45 mm and a full listed length of 95 mm including the neck and transition section. Check both the holder opening and the free space above it so the upper assembly clears lids, clamps and nearby hardware.

Z Height is not specified for this SKU. If your instrument requires a defined beam-center height, confirm that point before ordering rather than relying on the body footprint or path length alone.

Solvents and cleaning

This cell uses Molded 83 fabrication. For method planning, choose samples and cleaning steps for the complete assembly, because this version includes a tube and transition structure above the quartz cell body rather than a simple body-only opening.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning, and check the exact sample and cleaning conditions before extended exposure to aggressive chemicals.
