Choose this cell when your method uses a 10 mm path and you want a micro cuvette with a larger nominal capacity than narrower, lower-volume slit options. The black-wall body keeps the optical direction limited to the two measuring faces, which suits direct UV/Vis transmission setups. The 5 mm sample region is also useful when you want more width in the illuminated area than very narrow slit formats provide.

Using this cell

Fill the cell so the illuminated sample region is fully covered during measurement. Keep bubbles and residue away from the optical faces, and use the same orientation for blank and sample runs so the beam passes through the same two faces each time.

The 1.75 mL figure is the nominal capacity of the cell. It should not be treated as the minimum working volume, so the actual fill level should be based on your beam position and handling method.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces and top opening before the first run. Rinse with a suitable liquid for your method, place the cell in the holder, and confirm that the beam crosses the intended optical faces with the sample region fully covered.

Fit and optical alignment

The uncapped cell body is 12.5 × 12.5 × 45 mm. Check clearance around the installed lid in your holder or sample compartment, because the stated outer dimensions apply to the uncapped cell body rather than the assembled height with the lid in place.

Z Height is not established for this option. If your instrument or holder depends on a specific beam height, check the beam position against your setup instead of assuming fit from the 10 mm path length alone. The 5 mm sample-region width should also be considered if your beam footprint is relatively tall or wide for this cell style.

Solvents and cleaning

This cuvette uses Standard 80 adhesive-bonded quartz construction. It is generally suited to routine water-based samples and buffers at room temperature. Avoid organic sample solvents and organic cleaning agents with this construction; if your method depends on organic solvents, ask about a more suitable alternative before ordering.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning methods, and wipe the exterior optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue.
