Five-Hole Quartz Capillary: Several Passages in One Small Section
CUSTOM DESIGN GUIDE · MQC490
MQC490 is listed as a five-hole quartz capillary with a 1 mm circular outside, 0.15 mm bore size and 25 mm length. It places several passages within one mechanical section. The main design task is to carry a readable hole pattern from the capillary into its end connections.

One outside body, several routes to identify
A bundle of separate tubes gives each passage its own outside. A multi-hole section puts the passages within a shared body. That changes the way the component is held and how each route is identified at an end face.
For a proposed assembly, the holes can be labelled according to their intended roles and carried through to the receiving component. The five-hole description identifies the section family; it does not prescribe a manifold or how the passages are used.
MQC490 configuration
The connector needs the pattern, not just the outside diameter
A circular support may fit the 1 mm outside while a connector still misses or covers an opening. The relevant connection drawing shows hole positions, the contact area and the region that must remain accessible.
Pattern orientation matters when the receiving openings are separate. Rotating the section changes which hole meets which opening unless the fixture or connection preserves that relationship. Shared labels and a common end-view reference make that arrangement understandable.
Leave enough accessible length for the intended connection
The listed length is 25 mm. The supported portion and exposed ends divide that length according to the assembly. A holder that extends too close to an end can leave too little space for the connector, even though the bare capillary fits.
This section is worth discussing when the shared body serves the design. If each route needs unrelated positioning or separate end hardware, those connection requirements may dominate the choice more than the compact outside diameter.
A custom example: match a multi-opening end component
ILLUSTRATIVE DESIGN EXAMPLE
Suppose a receiving component has five openings in a defined pattern. The proposed capillary section can retain the passage count and locate each hole from that component's datum. The interface is then described by corresponding hole labels and positions, rather than by the phrase “five-hole tube” alone.
