Triangular Quartz Capillary: Choosing a Face or Corner for the Fixture
CUSTOM DESIGN GUIDE · MQC511
MQC511 is listed as a triangular quartz capillary with a 25 mm length. Its faces and corners offer a different locating problem from a circular tube. The useful custom-design starting point is an end section that connects the chosen outside contact to the internal opening.

Let the profile solve a positioning problem
A fixture may reference a face or a corner to set the orientation of a component. A triangular outer form brings those individual features into the mounting layout, instead of offering only a circular outside diameter.
That is a reason to consider the section when orientation or clearance has a defined role. The profile itself is not an application: its value comes from the relationship between the outside contact, internal passage and adjacent component in the proposed setup.
MQC511 configuration
The section view carries the important information
A side view supplies length and shows where the capillary is held. It cannot describe which face sits against the fixture or where the inner opening lies relative to that contact. Those relationships belong on the end view.
The fixture and capillary can share the same orientation reference. With the intended contact marked, the drawing can then show the remaining clearance and how a receiving part approaches the passage. This makes the unusual outline understandable as an assembly component.
Keep the working end accessible
The supported length and exposed ends divide the listed 25 mm length according to the method. A close-fitting support can still be inconvenient if it covers an end or blocks the approach of the next part. The useful layout shows those actions as well as the stationary shape.
A triangular form also introduces a shaped fixture interface. It is worthwhile where a face or corner serves the design; otherwise a familiar outer profile may be simpler to accommodate. The choice should follow the required contact rather than visual novelty.
A custom example: locate the passage from one selected face
ILLUSTRATIVE DESIGN EXAMPLE
Suppose a fixture references one triangular face while the mating component requires the opening at a fixed position. The proposed end section can define both from that face. A side view adds the support and working length, turning the shape request into a complete locating brief.
