C225CC is a glass rectangular sample cell for visible absorbance measurements at 350–800 nm. It combines a 22 mm optical path with an open-top body, Five-Way Light access and a 22 mL nominal capacity, giving you direct top filling and broader optical access around the sample region for suitable setups. Supplied as 1 cuvette per listed price unit.
Description
C225CC is a glass rectangular sample cell for visible absorbance work at 350–800 nm. It combines a 22 mm optical path with an open-top body, Five-Way Light access and a 22 mL nominal capacity, so you can fill the cell directly from above and plan optical access around more than one side of the sample region. The body size is 28 × 28 × 50 mm, which is useful when you need a larger rectangular format rather than a narrow standard holder shape.

Choose this option
Choose C225CC when your method needs a 22 mm path in a directly fillable rectangular cell and your setup benefits from broader optical access around the sample area. The open top makes manual filling, emptying and rinsing straightforward, while the 22 mL nominal capacity suits methods that need a more substantial sample volume than compact micro-format cells.
What makes this option different
- Open-top access lets you add, remove and rinse the sample directly from above without working through a stopper or threaded closure.
- The 22 mm optical path suits methods built around that stated path length rather than a shorter routine cell format.
- Five-Way Light access gives more optical approach options around the sample region, which is useful when your measurement or observation setup needs side access in addition to the main measurement direction.
- The 22 mL nominal capacity provides a larger filled sample region than small-volume rectangular cells, which can matter for filling practice and sample handling.
- The 28 × 28 × 50 mm body is a relatively substantial rectangular form, so holder opening and surrounding clearance deserve checking before installation.
- This option is an adhesive-bonded glass construction, listed as Standard 80, which is typically chosen for routine room-temperature aqueous and buffer-based work.
Using this cell
Fill the cell from the top and orient it consistently for blank and sample measurements. Keep the liquid level high enough to cover the beam in your chosen measuring position, since the 22 mL figure is the nominal capacity and not a stated minimum working volume.
Because this is an open-top cell, leave enough space above the opening for pipetting, pouring or rinsing. Remove visible bubbles before measurement and handle the cell by non-optical surfaces where possible.
First-use check
Inspect the cell on arrival for chips, residue or handling marks, especially on the optical faces and top opening. Before running samples, place the empty cell in the holder to confirm clearance, rinse it with a suitable liquid for your method, and run a blank in the same orientation you will use for measurement.
Fit and optical alignment
The stated 28 × 28 × 50 mm dimensions apply to the body only. Check holder width, depth and vertical clearance before ordering, especially if your instrument was designed around a slimmer rectangular cuvette format.
Five-Way Light describes the available optical access category of this cell body, but your instrument still needs the right beam position and physical support for the orientation you plan to use. Z Height is not listed for this option, so beam-height-dependent fixtures should be checked carefully.
Solvents and cleaning
This adhesive-bonded glass cell is listed as Standard 80. In practice, that makes it a sensible choice for routine room-temperature aqueous samples and buffer-based methods where direct top filling and normal rinsing are needed.
If your work involves organic solvents, stronger chemical exposure, heated cleaning or long contact time, check suitability for the complete assembly before use. Do not use hydrofluoric acid with glass. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning methods, and clean the optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue or another suitable soft material.

Discuss a custom version
We coordinate custom JGS1 quartz production for requirements involving dimensions, optical path length, sample volume, optical windows or Z Height, closures and connections, fabrication and tolerances. Send a dimensioned drawing or labelled sketch and identify the dimensions and tolerances that are critical to your application. Prototype batches typically involve 2–4 cells; the final quantity, feasibility, specifications, price and production time are confirmed in the project quotation. Modified designs and prototype batches are quoted separately from the listed SKU. Discuss your requirements and quote part number C225CC.
