Using this cell
Match the optical path and transmitting direction to the measurement method. Keep seating and orientation consistent for blank and sample.
Fill so the liquid covers the illuminated region. Remove trapped bubbles and keep fingerprints or residue off the exterior optical faces.
First-use check
- Inspect the optical faces, sample region and any mating or connecting surfaces before use.
- Check holder fit and optical alignment with an appropriate blank or background.
- Remove bubbles and exterior droplets, then repeat the blank in the same position.

Check the cell envelope, holder depth, beam position and access for filling or connections against your instrument before ordering.
Allow clearance for the neck and for fitting or removing the screw cap. A cap thread identifies a closure connection and does not by itself specify a pressure-rated fluid fitting.
Solvents and cleaning — Molded 83
Molded 83 is an MQ selection option for organic-solvent and heated measurement methods. Choose the sample and cleaning routine for the complete cell, including any closures or fittings. For aggressive liquids, heat or prolonged soaking, send the liquid, concentration, temperature and contact time for a suitability check.
Keep hydrofluoric acid away from quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaners. Clean exterior optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue.
