Description

The C104TF5 is a premium quartz fluorescence cuvette with 10 mm path length and four-way light optical configuration — all four vertical faces are polished to optical grade, providing the standard 90° fluorescence geometry plus additional optical access. With a standard 3.5 ml internal volume (10 × 10 × 52 mm chamber), the cell is compatible with most commercial fluorimeters and UV-Vis spectrophotometers. Fabricated using Molded 0.01 (>83% transmittance, ±0.01 mm tolerance) — precision-molded as a single piece for ultra-tight dimensional accuracy. Features a PTFE-lined screw cap for secure, leak-resistant closure during mixing, inversion, or transport.

Why Four-Way Light?

The four-way configuration polishes all four vertical faces to optical grade — the standard geometry for fluorescence spectroscopy. The excitation beam enters through one face and emission is collected at 90° through an adjacent face, minimizing excitation light contamination in the emission signal. The additional two polished faces allow the cuvette to be rotated for alternative measurement geometries or simultaneous absorbance monitoring during fluorescence experiments.

Screw Cap Closure

The PTFE-lined screw cap provides secure, leak-resistant closure that allows the cuvette to be inverted for mixing, transported between workstations, or used in automated sample changers without risk of leakage. The PTFE liner is chemically inert and contributes no background fluorescence. The threaded design allows one-handed operation and consistent sealing pressure.

Why Molded 0.01 Construction?

Molded 0.01 is the premium fabrication method: the cuvette is integrally fused as a single piece with no adhesive or joints. This eliminates solvent attack points and enables operation up to 1200 °C — far exceeding sintered (600 °C) or glue-assembled (200 °C) alternatives. Dimensional tolerance is ±0.01 mm. The monolithic construction withstands all common laboratory solvents, concentrated acids, and bases; avoid HF (hydrofluoric acid). Critically for fluorescence work, the absence of adhesive removes a common source of background fluorescence that can contaminate emission spectra. With transmittance >83%, Molded 0.01 is the gold standard for demanding fluorescence research.

Usage Tips: Handle by non-optical surfaces only — fingerprints on polished faces cause scattering artifacts that raise fluorescence background. Rinse immediately after use. Molded 0.01 construction withstands all common laboratory solvents, concentrated acids, and bases. Avoid HF (hydrofluoric acid). For fluorescence work, ensure the excitation beam enters through a polished window and the detector views at 90° through an adjacent polished face. Compatible with Shimadzu, Agilent, PerkinElmer, Thermo Fisher, JASCO, Hitachi, Horiba, Edinburgh Instruments, and most commercial fluorimeters.
