Quartz 10mm Stoppered Micro Fluorescence Cuvette, 1.4 ml, Molded 83, Four-Way Light, PTFE Stopper, 1pc/ea, C104SE9
Description
The C104SE9 is a quartz stoppered micro fluorescence cuvette with 10 mm path length and four-way light optical windows, engineered for fluorescence spectroscopy where sample conservation and sealed measurement conditions are equally critical (190–2500 nm). The 4 mm interior width reduces the working volume to 1.4 ml — a 60% reduction from the standard 3.5 ml cell — while retaining the full 10 mm optical path for quantitative absorbance and fluorescence work. All four faces are optically polished, supporting the 90° excitation/emission geometry used in fluorescence spectroscopy as well as multi-angle scattering measurements. Fabricated by Molded 83 (1200 °C fusion, ±0.02 mm tolerance, >83% transmittance) for the highest dimensional accuracy and optical reproducibility. The included PTFE stopper seals the chamber against evaporation and atmospheric contamination — essential when working with volatile fluorescent probes or running time-resolved kinetic measurements over extended periods.

Applications
Why PTFE Stopper?
The PTFE stopper creates a gas-tight seal that prevents both solvent evaporation and ingress of atmospheric oxygen or moisture. This matters for fluorescence measurements because many fluorescent probes are quenched by dissolved oxygen, and even minor evaporation during a kinetic run will change the effective concentration and distort the observed emission intensity. Unlike polymer caps, the PTFE stopper introduces minimal background fluorescence of its own, is inert to all common laboratory solvents, and withstands repeated autoclaving for biological applications.
Why Micro Volume?
Internal quartz masking walls narrow the measurement chamber to 4 mm while maintaining the full 10 mm optical path (Beer–Lambert law: A = εlc). This saves 60% of sample compared to a standard 3.5 ml cuvette, making it ideal for precious biological samples, expensive fluorescent reagents, or limited column fractions. The micro volume design keeps the sample at full column height — compatible with all spectrophotometer beam heights (8.5 mm, 15 mm, or 20 mm) without verification.
