C012WS is a JGS1 quartz rectangular sample cell for UV/Vis spectroscopy across the stated 200–2500 nm range. Using this cell

Fill the cell through the open neck and make sure the sample fully covers the optical path during measurement. For short-path work, bubbles, streaks and droplets on the light path can affect the reading more quickly than in a larger chamber, so inspect the filled sample region before placing the cell in the instrument.

Use a consistent orientation for blank and sample measurements. Handle the cell by non-optical surfaces, and keep fingerprints away from the optical faces.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces and neck opening for chips, residue or packing debris.
Test the empty cell in your holder to confirm seating and top clearance.
After rinsing, fill the cell and check that the beam area is fully covered and free of bubbles.

Fit and optical alignment

The body height is 45 mm, and the illustrated overall height including the neck section is 95 mm. The seated rectangular body section is 12.5 × 3.5 mm, which is the most useful dimension here for holder fit and side clearance around the cell body.

The neck outer diameter is 6.35 mm, which can help when planning top-side clearance near sleeves, clips or nearby tubing hardware. Z Height is not established for this cell, so if your instrument depends on a fixed beam-center height, check holder geometry before ordering. The single neck provides sample access, but it should not be treated as a confirmed flow-through or pressure-rated connection.

Solvents and cleaning

Molded 83 quartz cells are commonly chosen for methods involving organic solvents and applications with temperature-related handling requirements. Select the actual sample and cleaning routine for the complete cell and your working conditions.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning methods. Clean the optical faces gently with suitable non-abrasive lab wipes or optical tissue.
