(C202CA5) Quartz Standard Cuvette, 20 mm Path, 7 mL
Description
C202CA5 is a JGS1 quartz standard cuvette for UV/Vis measurements that use a 20 mm optical path. It combines a Two-Way Light optical layout with a 7 mL nominal capacity and an open-top body, so you can fill the sample chamber directly and cover it with the included PTFE lid. This is the selected cuvette configuration for methods that need a longer path in a standard cuvette form.

Choose this option
Choose C202CA5 when your method is set up around a 20 mm path and you want direct top access instead of a flow-cell connection or demountable plate assembly. The longer path and 7 mL nominal capacity suit measurements that use a fuller standard-cell sample region, while the JGS1 quartz body supports UV/Vis work across the stated 200–2500 nm range.
What makes this option different
- 20 mm optical path: match the measurement method to this transmission distance and align the beam through the sample region.
- Two-Way Light: align the opposing optical faces with the transmission beam and use the same orientation for blank and sample readings.
- 7 mL nominal capacity: plan the working fill and beam footprint together so liquid covers the illuminated region; nominal capacity is not a minimum working fill.
- Open-top access: load and rinse through the sample opening, leaving room above the body for filling and any accompanying closure.
- Supplier-described fused integrated construction: keep the body assembled for routine cleaning and rinse through the sample opening, using liquids suitable for the complete quartz assembly.
Using this cell
Fill from the open top and make sure the liquid level covers the beam region used in your instrument. For blanks and samples, keep the same cuvette orientation throughout the sequence and clear visible bubbles before measurement.
The PTFE lid serves as a cover for routine use of the open cell. It should not be treated as a leak-tight, pressure-rated or transport-sealing closure.
First-use check
- Inspect the optical faces for residue, fingerprints or handling marks.
- Seat the empty cuvette in your holder to check body fit and top access clearance.
- Run a blank with the same orientation you plan to use for the sample.
Fit and optical alignment
The recorded external dimensions are 12.5 × 22.5 × 45 mm for the uncapped cell body. These dimensions help you check holder width, depth and seating of the bare cuvette, while top clearance for lid use should be considered separately.
Z Height is not established for this listing. If your holder or instrument requires a defined beam-center height, verify that requirement before ordering rather than assuming a match from the outer body shape alone.
Solvents and cleaning
This cuvette is described for contact with acids, alkalis and organic liquids, but the stated chemical scope is qualitative only. Concentration, temperature, contact time and full closure-area compatibility are not specified, so aggressive sample or cleaning conditions should be reviewed against your actual procedure.
The supplier describes this exact cuvette as a fused integrated construction. In practice, that identifies this specific build option rather than a separate screw-neck or demountable assembly, and it is still best used with cleaning methods appropriate for quartz cuvettes and the actual liquids in contact. For fabrication background, see MQ Cuvette Fabrication Glossary. Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning materials, and wipe the optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue.
Included with this option
This configuration includes an accompanying closure. Confirm the cell quantity and any separately specified accessories covered by your order.
