Using this cell

Fill the cell with your blank or sample, then fit the closure before measurement. Make sure the liquid covers the beam path used by your instrument, and remove visible bubbles from the reading zone before taking measurements.

Keep the optical faces clean and avoid touching them directly. If your procedure uses a fixed cell orientation, keep that orientation consistent between blank and sample runs.

First-use check

Inspect the cell body and optical faces for dust, chips, scratches or residue.
Rinse with a cleaning liquid suitable for your method and the complete assembled cell.
Run a blank and check that the beam passes through the intended sample region without bubbles or droplets in the optical path.
Confirm that the closure is properly fitted before routine use.

Fit and optical alignment

The 2 mm path length should match the method you intend to run. Four-Way Light describes the optical access arrangement of the cell body, but it does not by itself determine holder compatibility, beam height or side clearance in your instrument.

Solvents and cleaning

If your method uses aggressive reagents, long contact times or elevated temperature, check compatibility for the assembled cell, including the closure, before use.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning materials. Clean the optical faces gently with suitable non-abrasive optical tissue or laboratory wipes.
