Description

The C402CR12 is a high-capacity quartz cuvette with 40 mm path length and 76.8 ml internal volume. Fabricated using Sintered 83 — sintered from high-purity quartz with >83% transmittance, ensuring minimal background absorption across the full UV-Vis-NIR range. The cell features two opposite faces polished to optical grade for standard transmission measurements. Ships without a cover (open top), allowing easy sample addition and removal with minimal contamination risk.

Applications

UV-Vis Absorbance Spectroscopy — quantitative concentration measurements using Beer–Lambert law
Large-Volume Sample Analysis — accommodates samples available in bulk quantities without dilution
Particle Size Studies — large chamber minimizes wall effects for colloidal and suspension measurements
Enhanced Sensitivity Assays — longer path length improves detection limits compared to standard 10 mm cells
Rapid Sample Throughput — open-top design allows fast sample loading and rinsing between measurements
Environmental & Water Quality — COD, nitrate, phosphate, and heavy-metal colorimetric analysis
Industrial Process Monitoring — in-line quality control of chemical manufacturing processes

Why Two-Way Light?

Two-way light cuvettes have two opposite vertical faces polished to optical grade, forming the standard transmission geometry for UV-Vis absorbance measurements. This is the most common and cost-effective configuration for routine spectrophotometry.

Why Sintered 83?

Sintered 83 cuvettes are fabricated by sintering high-purity quartz at extreme temperatures, achieving >83% transmittance with exceptional optical clarity. The sintering process creates a robust, chemically resistant structure that withstands repeated exposure to aggressive solvents, concentrated acids, and bases (avoid HF).

Usage Tips
Rinse with a compatible solvent (e.g., ethanol or the measurement solvent) before first use to remove residual particles. Do not use abrasive materials on polished optical faces — wipe gently with lens tissue. Withstands all common laboratory solvents, concentrated acids, and bases. Avoid HF (hydrofluoric acid). Store in the original protective case to prevent scratches on the optical windows.
