JGS3 Micro Quartz Cell: Specifying the Wavelength and Closure (MQQFL033)
Custom design guide · MQQFL033
This JGS3 quartz microcell combines a 10 mm path, a narrow 2 mm sample region and an M12 top with a PTFE cap. Start selection with the actual wavelength and closure requirements.

Specify the wavelength before choosing the material grade
MQQFL033 brings a small sample region and screw closure into a JGS3 quartz configuration listed for visible/IR-related selection. Its nominal path is 10 mm and its capacity is 700 µL. The material designation is a starting point; the finished cell must meet the optical requirement at your actual wavelength.
The body has a 12.5 mm-square footprint, a 2 mm narrow region and an M12 screw top with a PTFE cap. This combination is useful to discuss when the chamber, loading opening and closure must all suit a small-sample method. Available liquid must cover the beam, and every wetted closure component must suit the medium.

How the structure differs from a conventional cell
Narrowing one chamber dimension reduces the nominal sample capacity while retaining the specified path in the measurement direction. The screw neck adds a closable loading opening above it. Material grade, optical alignment and closure performance remain separate choices, even when two cells have similar outside dimensions.

Review optical evidence and closure function separately
For an existing 10 mm-path method, identify the holder interface and optical direction to retain. Supply the wavelength, beam size and centre height, plus any required transmission evidence and its test conditions. We can review the sample region against those requirements.
For a closure change, describe what the cap must do, with the medium, temperature, orientation and contact time. Include any liner or insert as well as the PTFE cap. A cap material name does not describe the whole wetted assembly or establish gas-tightness.

Three checks for the proposed setup
- Optical requirement. Give the wavelength and acceptance evidence needed for the finished JGS3 cell.
- Filled region. Match beam position and size to the narrow sample region.
- Complete height. Distinguish the 38 mm body from 54 mm uncapped and 57 mm capped heights.
Evaluate the cell at the wavelength of use
Plan the optical check with the appropriate blank, then assess filling and repeatable positioning separately. Agree cleaning for the residue, construction and closure components. A measured spectrum, minimum working volume and verified seal performance are not established by the present configuration record.
What optical information should accompany an enquiry for this JGS3 cell?
Give the operating wavelength or range, beam geometry and acceptance requirement. Identify any report needed for the finished cell and the conditions it must cover. A result from a different material grade cannot qualify this configuration.
Engineering dimension reference
The reference records known external dimensions and configuration notes. Internal geometry, tolerances and operating limits still require a project-specific specification.
