600 µL Masked Quartz Flow Cell: Aligning a Rectangular Window (MQQFC104)
Custom design guide · MQQFC104
A tall rectangular optical window and two top connections define this 600 µL nominal flow-cell configuration. Selection starts with fitting the beam through the window and leaving room for the tubing above.
The situations and proposed changes below are planning examples, not completed customer projects.

Fit the beam through the rectangular window
MQQFC104 suits a design discussion in which liquid is delivered through top connections while the cell remains located in the optical holder. The masked body has a 12.5 mm-square footprint, a nominal 10 mm sample path and a 600 µL listed capacity.
Its defining visible feature is the rectangular window annotated 3.5 × 17.5 mm. Check both where that window sits and how the beam crosses it. Above the 45 mm body, the two connection assemblies, fitted hoses and access for removal need their own space.

How the structure differs from a conventional cell
Masking changes the broad optical access of a transparent cuvette into a more restricted visible region, while the top connections provide a planned fluid route. That brings window alignment and hose clearance into the holder design. The mask is a configuration feature; a reduction in stray light would need measured evidence.

Decide whether to move the beam, window or whole cell
If the beam partly crosses the mask, supply its size and centre relative to the holder base. State which features may move: the window, sample region or complete cell. We can review those routes without assuming that enlarging the visible opening is the only solution.
If the top connections interfere, send the actual tubing or fitting specification and fitted outline. Identify required wetted materials and seal function. The colour and appearance of the white connection assemblies do not define their material, thread or supplied accessory set.

Three checks for the proposed setup
- Window position. Compare the beam footprint with the required useful opening and its centre.
- Upper envelope. Include both fitted connections, hose bends and removal movement.
- Wetted components. Specify fitting/seal materials and operating and acceptance conditions.
Separate filling issues from alignment issues
Plan a blank-response check with the cell located, then observe filling in the intended orientation. A bubble, residual liquid and a beam crossing the mask are different problems to distinguish. Support hoses independently and grip the masked body away from the clear window. Cleaning and leakage checks must suit the finished assembly.
How much sample should I allow beyond the nominal 600 µL?
Include the liquid needed to cover the useful optical region, fill the fittings and tubing, and carry out the chosen flushing procedure. The configuration record does not establish a complete-system sample requirement; send the circuit layout if that amount is critical.
Engineering dimension reference
The reference records known external dimensions and configuration notes. Internal geometry, tolerances and operating limits still require a project-specific specification.
