Quartz Erlenmeyer Flask: Preparing a Sample Before Measurement
Custom Design Guides · MQQFS002
Before a sample reaches a cuvette, it may need to be combined, mixed and transferred. MQQFS002 is the 100 mL open quartz Erlenmeyer-flask option in a family of conical vessels. It provides a different handling arrangement from a straight-sided sample cell.
Choose the vessel around the operation. The nominal capacity identifies the option, while the intended working level, neck access and transfer method describe how it will be used.

The configuration discussed here
What changes from the simpler form?
Compared with a straight-sided sample cell, the conical flask separates a broad preparation body from a narrower loading neck. That is a container-layout choice; it does not make the flask an optical-path or calibrated-volume device.
Leave the mixing operation room to happen
If your procedure involves moving the flask to mix its contents, describe the intended fill and the way the vessel is supported. The volume printed in an option name is not a recommendation to fill the vessel to that level for every operation.
A low holder or enclosure may restrict movement around the conical body. Show the outside envelope you can accept, the surface that supports it and the clearance above the neck. Those dimensions cannot be taken from a photograph shared by several flask sizes.
The neck must suit the transfer tool
A narrower neck can change the approach for a pipette, funnel or other filling tool. Specify the actual tool diameter and reach if they matter to the method. Also describe how the prepared sample leaves the flask: pouring and withdrawal through the mouth ask different things of the opening.
If a stopper is required, request the appropriate closed configuration rather than assuming one is included with MQQFS002. The stopper and neck pairing should be stated as part of the supplied set.
From an open preparation flask to a custom request
A possible change is to retain the conical vessel form while adjusting the neck envelope to clear an existing tool. Mark the body dimensions to keep and the neck dimensions to review. Include the working fill and the available space around the flask.
A side connection, different joint or closed operating arrangement is a further design question, not an automatic option. MQ can discuss the proposed geometry and relevant operating conditions before the drawing and quotation are agreed.
Do not confuse mixing volume with calibrated volume
This flask is presented as a preparation vessel. The nominal 100 mL option does not establish a calibrated contained volume, sterile supply or any particular heating qualification. If a method depends on those attributes, include the required evidence in the enquiry.
For dimensional fit, identify the neck, widest body section and support footprint that matter to your setup. Agree a trial fit or dimensional record for those features rather than relying on a visually similar flask.

Is a stopper included with the 100 mL open flask?
The selected option is without a stopper. If a closed arrangement is needed, specify the stopper and mating neck together and confirm the supplied components for that option.
Send a drawing or the mating-part details
Use the open 100 mL option to identify the vessel form. For a modification, send the working sequence and tool or holder drawing so MQ can review the parts that need to change.
- Nominal size and actual working fill
- Mixing, filling and transfer sequence
- Required body envelope and support footprint
- Tool access and any stopper or joint requirement
- Sample conditions, quantity and requested documentation
Modified designs are reviewed for the project. The drawing, supplied parts, quantity, inspection scope, price and preparation or production time are agreed in the quotation.
Details to settle for the ordered configuration
Exact dimensions for this size, any calibrated volume, closure pairing and operating limits require product-specific confirmation.
