Quartz 10mm Cuvette With Stopper, 3.5ml, Sintered 83, Two-way Light, Stopper, 1pc/ea, C102SR27
Description
The C102SR27 is a quartz screw-top stoppered cuvette with 10 mm path length and two-way light optical configuration — two opposite vertical faces are polished to optical grade, forming the standard transmission geometry for UV-Vis absorbance measurements. With a 3.5 ml internal volume (10 × 10 × 43 mm chamber), the cell is compatible with most commercial spectrophotometers. Fabricated using Sintered 83 (>83% transmittance) — quartz panels are thermally fused at approximately 600 °C, producing joints free of organic adhesive. The PTFE stopper seals the cuvette opening, preventing evaporation of volatile samples and protecting air-sensitive or hygroscopic solutions during measurement.

Spectroscopy Applications
Why Two-Way Light?
Two-way light cuvettes have two opposite polished faces that form the standard transmission path for absorbance measurements. The remaining two faces are frosted (ground), which blocks stray light from reaching the detector at oblique angles and improves measurement accuracy. This is the most common configuration for UV-Vis spectrophotometry.
Why a PTFE Stopper?
The PTFE stopper provides a gas-tight seal that prevents evaporation and blocks airborne contaminants. PTFE is chemically inert and temperature-resistant, making it compatible with a wide range of solvents and operating conditions. The stopper can be inserted and removed quickly for sample loading, rinsing, and refilling.
Why Sintered 83?
Sintered 83 cuvettes undergo high-temperature fusion at approximately 600 °C, creating adhesive-free joints with >83% transmittance. This fabrication is compatible with strong acids, bases, and most organic solvents (excluding HF and aggressive organics such as toluene and acetone) — making it a robust choice for diverse chemical environments.
- Rinse with a compatible solvent (e.g., ethanol or the measurement solvent) before first use to remove any residual particles.
- Do not use abrasive materials or brushes on the polished optical faces — wipe gently with lens tissue.
- Compatible with strong acids, bases, and most organic solvents. Avoid HF and aggressive organics (toluene, acetone).
- Store in the original protective case to prevent scratches on the optical windows.
- For baseline correction, fill with your reference solvent, cap the cuvette, and run a blank before sample measurements.
