Quartz 10mm Micro Volume Cuvette, 0.35 ml, Standard 80, Two-Way Light, PTFE Cap, Pack of Two, C102CS23
Description
The C102CS23 is a precision IR quartz micro volume cuvette with 10 mm path length and two-way light optical windows, designed for UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometry (260–3500 nm). The two-way light configuration transmits the beam through two opposing polished optical faces, delivering clean baseline performance for absorbance measurements. This cuvette reduces the required sample volume to 0.35 ml (350 µl) — saving 90% compared to a standard 3.5 ml cell — by using internal quartz masking walls that narrow the chamber to ~1 mm width while maintaining the full 10 mm optical path. Fabricated using Standard 80 (>80% transmittance). Includes a PTFE cap for chemical-resistant sealing. Compatible with all standard spectrophotometers regardless of beam height.

Applications
Why Micro Volume?
Internal quartz masking walls narrow the measurement chamber to ~1 mm while maintaining the full 10 mm optical path (Beer–Lambert law: A = εlc). This saves 90% of sample compared to a standard 3.5 ml cuvette, making it ideal for precious biological samples, expensive reagents, or limited column fractions. Unlike ultra-micro cuvettes with raised platforms, the micro volume design keeps the sample at full column height — compatible with all spectrophotometer beam heights (8.5 mm, 15 mm, or 20 mm) without verification.
Clear-Wall Design Benefits
This cuvette features clear (uncoated) quartz walls on all four exterior faces. The fully transparent design allows visual inspection of sample fill level, bubble detection, and mixing completeness before measurement. Clear walls also enable lateral light transmission, making this cuvette suitable for fluorescence applications where excitation and emission beams are oriented at 90° to each other. Additionally, clear-wall construction simplifies cleaning verification — residual deposits or contamination on internal surfaces are immediately visible through the transparent walls.
Why Standard 80 Construction?
Standard 80 refers to precision-glued assembly: individual quartz panels bonded with optical-grade adhesive, then ground and polished to final dimensions. With >80% transmittance across 260–3500 nm, Standard 80 delivers accurate, reproducible results for routine UV-Vis work — DNA/protein quantification, enzyme kinetics, and pharmaceutical analysis. Important: the adhesive bonds are designed for aqueous samples only (water, buffers, dilute salt solutions). Organic solvents, strong acids, strong bases, and corrosive reagents can attack and degrade the adhesive joints. For work with organic solvents or aggressive chemicals, choose Sintered 83 or Molded 83 instead.
