Why Four-Way Light?

The four-way configuration polishes all four vertical faces to optical grade — the standard geometry for fluorescence spectroscopy. The excitation beam enters through one face and emission is collected at 90° through an adjacent face, minimizing excitation light contamination in the emission signal. The additional two polished faces allow the cuvette to be rotated for alternative measurement geometries or simultaneous absorbance monitoring during fluorescence experiments.

Low-Profile Design (43 mm Height)

This cuvette features a low-profile design with a total exterior height of 43 mm — shorter than the standard 45 mm cuvette height. The reduced height (2.5 ml internal volume vs. 3.5 ml for standard-height models) is specifically designed for instruments with limited vertical clearance in the sample compartment, such as compact spectrophotometers, microplate readers with cuvette adapters, or custom optical setups with tight beam geometry. The lower profile also reduces sample consumption when full-fill operation is required. Please verify that your instrument’s sample compartment can accommodate a 43 mm cuvette with screw cap before purchasing — some holders designed for standard 45 mm cuvettes may also accept this model, but confirm clearance with the cap installed.

Screw Cap Closure

The PTFE-lined screw cap provides secure, leak-resistant closure that allows the cuvette to be inverted for mixing, transported between workstations, or used in automated sample changers without risk of leakage. The PTFE liner is chemically inert and contributes no background fluorescence. The threaded design allows one-handed operation and consistent sealing pressure.

Why JGS3 Infrared Quartz?

JGS3 (also known as IR quartz or infrared quartz glass) is a specialty optical-grade quartz with an extended transmission window from 260 to 3500 nm. Unlike standard UV quartz (JGS1, transparent 185–2500 nm), JGS3 maintains high transmittance in the near-infrared and mid-infrared region, making it essential for NIR spectroscopy, FTIR liquid analysis, and measurements in the O–H / N–H / C–H stretch absorption bands (2500–3500 nm). If your application requires only UV-Vis range (190–2500 nm), a standard quartz cuvette will suffice at lower cost. Choose JGS3 when you need IR transmission beyond 2500 nm.

Why Molded 83 Construction?

Molded 83 is the premium fabrication method: the cuvette is integrally fused as a single piece with no adhesive or joints. This eliminates solvent attack points and enables operation up to 1200 °C — far exceeding sintered (600 °C) or glue-assembled (200 °C) alternatives. Dimensional tolerance is ±0.02 mm. The monolithic construction withstands all common laboratory solvents, concentrated acids, and bases; avoid HF (hydrofluoric acid). Critically for fluorescence work, the absence of adhesive removes a common source of background fluorescence that can contaminate emission spectra. With transmittance >83%, Molded 83 is the gold standard for demanding fluorescence research.
