Quartz 10mm Micro Fluorescence Cuvette, 1.75 ml, Standard 80, Four-Way Light, PTFE Cap, 1pc/ea, C104CS56
Description
The C104CS56 is a quartz micro fluorescence cuvette with 10 mm path length and four-way light optical windows, built for routine fluorescence and UV-Vis spectroscopy with aqueous samples (190–2500 nm). All four exterior faces are optically polished, providing the 90° excitation/emission geometry required for standard fluorescence measurements. The narrowed 5 mm interior width yields a 1.75 ml working volume — half the 3.5 ml of a full-size cell — while preserving the complete 10 mm optical path needed for Beer–Lambert quantification. Fabricated using Standard 80 precision-glued construction (>80% transmittance), this cuvette delivers reliable optical performance at an accessible price point for high-throughput teaching labs, QC screening, and daily analytical workflows. Sealed with a PTFE cap.

Applications
Standard 80 for Everyday Fluorescence
Standard 80 refers to precision-glued assembly: individual quartz panels bonded with optical-grade adhesive, then ground and polished to final dimensions. With >80% transmittance across 190–2500 nm and four optically polished faces, this cuvette supports both absorbance and 90° fluorescence measurements at a fraction of the cost of sintered or molded alternatives. It is an excellent choice for laboratories running large numbers of aqueous samples — buffers, protein solutions, DNA/RNA preparations, and dilute salt solutions — where the per-cuvette cost matters. Important: the adhesive joints are designed for aqueous samples only. Organic solvents, strong acids, and strong bases will attack the adhesive. For organic or corrosive solvents, choose Sintered 83 or Molded 83.
Why Micro Volume?
Internal quartz masking walls narrow the measurement chamber to 5 mm while maintaining the full 10 mm optical path (Beer–Lambert law: A = εlc). This saves 50% of sample compared to a standard 3.5 ml cuvette, making it practical for precious biological samples, expensive reagents, or limited column fractions. The micro volume design keeps the sample at full column height — compatible with all spectrophotometer beam heights (8.5 mm, 15 mm, or 20 mm) without verification.
