Using this cell

Fill the cell through the threaded neck and seat the screw cap after loading if your procedure calls for a covered sample. Use the same orientation for blank and sample when your method depends on consistent positioning, and keep the optical faces free from droplets, fingerprints and bubbles in the beam area.

The stated 3.5 mL value is a nominal capacity, not a minimum working volume. If your method depends on beam height or low fill levels, check that the liquid level will fully cover the beam in your own setup.

First-use check

Before first use, inspect the optical faces under good light and rinse the sample chamber with a solvent suitable for your method. After filling, confirm that the beam area is covered, the cap is properly seated and no bubbles remain on the optical path.

Fit and optical alignment

The body measures 12.5 × 12.5 mm with a 38 mm body height, 54 mm overall height without the cap and 58 mm overall height with the cap fitted. These dimensions help you check holder clearance above the cuvette, especially where lids, clamps or top-loading accessories sit close to the sample compartment.

Solvents and cleaning

Molded 83 is used here with a quartz cell body and PTFE screw cap. The source describes the cell as suitable for acids, alkalis and organic liquids, but the actual solvent, concentration, temperature, exposure time and full closure compatibility are not specified for every condition.

Check the complete assembly against your actual sample and cleaning routine when conditions are aggressive or prolonged. Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning materials, and wipe the optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue.
