Description

The C014WS1 is a quartz fluorescence flow cuvette with 1 mm path length and four-way light windows (four polished optical faces for standard fluorescence excitation-emission geometry), holding 0.35 ml of sample. The cell measures 3.5 × 12.5 × 76 mm externally with an internal chamber of 1 × 10 × 75 mm. Inlet and outlet ports enable continuous sample flow for real-time monitoring applications. Fabricated using Molded 83 technique with monolithic fused-quartz construction — no adhesive joints, delivering >83% transmittance across the 190-2500 nm range. The quartz body is withstands all common laboratory solvents, concentrated acids, and bases. Avoid HF (hydrofluoric acid).

Why Four-Way Light Windows?

The four-way light (all-clear) configuration provides four optically polished faces, enabling both transmission-mode (0°/180°) and right-angle (90°) fluorescence measurements in a single cell. This versatility makes it ideal for fluorescence spectroscopy, Raman scattering, and multi-angle detection. The polished surfaces also allow visual inspection of the sample during flow operation.

Why a Flow Cell?

Flow cells enable continuous, real-time spectroscopic monitoring without manual sample handling. Integrated quartz tube flow cells have inlet/outlet tubes fused directly into the cell body — no adhesive joints, no removable fittings. This monolithic construction eliminates the most common failure point (glue degradation at tube joints) and provides exceptional chemical resistance and thermal stability. Simply connect tubing to the protruding quartz ports.

Why Molded 83 Fabrication?

The Molded 83 fabrication creates a monolithic fused-quartz cell from a single block — no adhesive joints, no bonding layers. This delivers >83% transmittance and complete resistance to all common laboratory solvents, concentrated acids, and bases (avoid HF). The seamless construction eliminates leakage risks and withstands repeated thermal cycling, making Molded 83 the premium choice for demanding flow applications.

Usage Tips: Connect standard laboratory tubing (silicone, PTFE, or Tygon) to the quartz tube ports. For integrated-tube cells, slip tubing over the protruding quartz tubes and secure with tubing clamps. Prime the cell slowly to eliminate air bubbles from the optical path. Flow rate should be adjusted to achieve laminar flow — typically 0.5–5 ml/min for standard cells. The 1 mm path length follows Beer-Lambert law: A = εlc, so absorbance scales linearly with path length and concentration. Clean by flushing with appropriate solvent, then deionized water. Avoid sharp bends in tubing near the cell to prevent stress on quartz connections.
