Description
The C024CR1 is a precision infrared quartz (JGS3) fluorescence cuvette with 2mm path length and four-way optical windows, designed for visible, NIR, and mid-infrared spectroscopy (260–3500 nm). JGS3 infrared-grade fused silica offers extended transparency into the mid-IR region compared to standard UV quartz (JGS1), making it the preferred choice for NIR absorption studies, IR fluorescence, and mid-infrared analysis. The short 2mm optical path reduces absorbance by 5× compared to a standard 10mm cuvette (per the Beer-Lambert law), ideal for concentrated or strongly absorbing samples. Fabricated using the Sintered 83 precision technique (>83% transmittance, 600°C sintering). Supplied as a pack of two with PTFE caps.

Applications
Why IR Quartz (JGS3)?
Standard UV-grade quartz (JGS1) begins absorbing strongly above 2500 nm, limiting its use in the near- and mid-infrared region. JGS3 infrared-grade fused silica extends useful transparency to approximately 3500 nm, opening up NIR overtone bands, combination bands, and mid-IR fundamental absorption features critical for organic compound identification, moisture analysis, and petrochemical characterization. Combined with the short 2mm path length — which keeps strongly absorbing IR bands within measurable range — and four-way optical windows for fluorescence capability, this cuvette is purpose-built for advanced infrared spectroscopy workflows.
