Quartz 50mm Fluorescence Cuvette, 125ml, Standard 80, Four-Way Light, 1pc/ea, C504CS
Description
The C504CS is a premium quartz fluorescence cuvette with 50 mm path length and four-way light optical configuration — all four vertical faces are polished to optical grade, providing the standard 90° fluorescence geometry plus additional optical access. With a standard 125 ml internal volume (50 × 50 × 53 mm chamber), the cell is compatible with most commercial fluorimeters and UV-Vis spectrophotometers. Fabricated using Standard 80 (>80% transmittance) — assembled with optical-grade adhesive for reliable performance with aqueous samples. Includes a quartz cover lid providing UV-transparent closure for top-illumination experiments.

Fluorescence Applications
Why Four-Way Light?
The four-way configuration polishes all four vertical faces to optical grade — the standard geometry for fluorescence spectroscopy. The excitation beam enters through one face and emission is collected at 90° through an adjacent face, minimizing excitation light contamination in the emission signal. The additional two polished faces allow the cuvette to be rotated for alternative measurement geometries or simultaneous absorbance monitoring during fluorescence experiments.
Quartz Cover Lid
The quartz cover lid provides UV-transparent closure, enabling top-illumination or top-detection configurations without signal attenuation. Unlike PTFE caps, the quartz cover transmits the full 190–2500 nm range, making it suitable for experiments where excitation or emission passes through the top of the cuvette. The cover also reduces dust contamination and solvent evaporation during measurements.
Why Standard 80 Construction?
Standard 80 cuvettes are assembled using optical-grade adhesive to bond precision quartz panels, achieving transmittance >80% at 200–2500 nm. This fabrication method delivers reliable optical performance at an accessible price point — ideal for routine fluorescence measurements with aqueous samples. Standard 80 cuvettes are intended for use with aqueous (water-based) solutions only; organic solvents, strong acids, or strong bases may attack the adhesive joints. For solvent-resistant applications, consider Sintered 83 or Molded 83 alternatives.
