Using this cell

Fill the cell from the top and seat it so the transmission faces are aligned with the instrument beam. Before measurement, make sure the liquid level covers the optical region used by your method and remove visible bubbles, streaks or fingerprints from the light path.

The stated 17.5 mL is the nominal capacity of the cell. It is not a minimum working volume, so low-fill methods should be checked in your own holder and beam geometry before routine use.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces and edges on arrival for dust or handling marks, then rinse as appropriate for your method before first use. A dry fit in the holder and a blank measurement at the intended wavelength are practical first checks before introducing sample.
