40 µL Quartz Counting Cell: Bringing a Channel to the Optics (MQQFC122)
Custom design guide · MQQFC122
A single shallow route links two reservoir regions in a thin quartz plate. Locate the area your optics must observe, then plan the support and two fine end connections around it.

Bring the observation region to the instrument
MQQFC122 is a component for discussing a counting or optical-observation arrangement with a thin sample region. Its 30 × 15 × 4 mm body carries one route between two visible reservoir areas, with fine tubes extending from opposite ends. The nominal path is 0.5 mm and the listed capacity is 40 µL.
Begin with the area the illumination and detector must see. Its position relative to the holder is more useful for selection than a connector choice made in isolation. Particle properties and fluid delivery also affect whether the complete arrangement will suit the method.

How the structure differs from a conventional cell
The bulk chamber becomes a shallow observation route accessed through two end tubes. The 4 mm plate thickness is a structural dimension, separate from the 0.5 mm sample path. Reservoir regions and external tubing also need to be considered when planning filling, flushing and the available sample.

Keep the optical position while reviewing support and tubes
If the observation point is already fixed, mark it along with the illumination direction and allowed support lands. We can review a body or channel change around those datums, without assuming that the whole cell is free to move.
For another tube arrangement, identify the desired direction at each end and how the tubing will be supported. Include medium, particle range and aggregation behaviour where relevant. Tube bore is only one part of the route; it does not establish passage through the full channel and reservoirs.

Three checks for the proposed setup
- Observed area. Locate the region to be viewed and keep support parts outside it.
- Sample properties. Describe the medium and any particles, not just the nominal volume.
- End connections. Support both fitted tubes without bending or loading the fine quartz connections.
Check filling before evaluating optical counts
Plan observations of bubbles and retained material, followed by the agreed optical and fluid checks for the complete setup. Handle solid outer edges and support attached tubing independently. Cleaning must suit the adhesive-bonded construction and residue. Counting accuracy and operating pressure need method-specific evidence.
What should I send to review compatibility with our detector?
Show the observed region, illumination and detector geometry, stage contacts and permitted cell position. Include sample or particle characteristics and the fluid route. These allow the cell layout to be reviewed against the actual observation task.
Engineering dimension reference
The reference records known external dimensions and configuration notes. Internal geometry, tolerances and operating limits still require a project-specific specification.
