(MQQFL029) JGS1 Quartz Fluorescence Cuvette, 40/10 mm Paths, 15 mL
Description
MQQFL029 combines a broad 40 mm path with a 10 mm secondary path in one JGS1 quartz fluorescence cuvette. Its Five-Way Light layout and open-top body make it useful when your method needs more than one optical direction around the same sample chamber. The flat lid covers the opening during handling, and the nominal capacity is 15 mL.

Choose this option
Choose MQQFL029 when you need a larger rectangular sample chamber with two defined path directions and optical access from multiple faces. This format suits UV/Vis and fluorescence work where the cell geometry, not just the nominal path length, matters for holder fit, beam arrangement and how you load the sample from above.
What makes this option different
- 40 mm and 10 mm paths: two optical directions in the same cell body for methods built around those path lengths.
- Five-Way Light layout: multiple optical access faces for arranging excitation, transmission and collection geometry.
- 40 × 10 × 43 mm internal chamber: a broad sample region paired with a 15 mL nominal capacity.
- Open top with flat lid: direct filling and visual access from above, with the lid supplied for covered handling.
Structure and dimensions

Using this cell
Fill the cell from the open top and place the lid after loading if your handling routine calls for cover between steps. When changing between the 40 mm and 10 mm directions, blank and measure in the same orientation you will use for the method rather than switching faces mid-run.
For fluorescence work, arrange excitation and collection around the accessible optical faces required by your setup. For UV/Vis measurements, use the selected path direction consistently and calculate against that path only.
First-use check
- Choose the optical direction required by your method before preparing the blank.
- Check holder fit, beam position and lid clearance with a blank in place.
- Keep the same cell orientation for blank and sample measurements.
Fit and optical alignment
Check the full body size, not only the path length, against your holder or instrument space. This cell has a 42.5 × 12.5 mm base footprint and a 45 mm body height, so it should be matched to fixtures that can accept its broader rectangular form and allow clearance above the opening for lid access.
Z Height is not established for this option. If your instrument has a fixed beam position, verify beam coverage with your holder or compare against a cell you already use. The 15 mL figure is nominal capacity, not a minimum working fill.

Solvents and cleaning
Molded 0.01 is the option to consider when your method calls for closely specified optical-path precision. For the 40 mm path on this cell, agree the required tolerance and measurement conditions for the order.
If your sample or cleaning routine involves aggressive chemicals, include the liquid, concentration, temperature and contact time when checking suitability.
Do not use hydrofluoric acid with quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis, abrasive cleaners and unnecessary force on the cell body. Clean the optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue and a suitable cleaning liquid for your method.
Included with this option
One MQQFL029 quartz Fluorescence Cuvette with its accompanying flat lid. The price is per cell. Group photographs show alternative sizes in the series; they are not a multi-cell sales pack.
Availability and ordering
You can order the listed specification directly, or contact us first to check current availability. A temporarily unavailable option may need additional preparation or production time. For a required arrival date, please check timing before checkout; preparation and shipping transit are separate.
Discuss a custom version
If you need a different chamber layout, path combination or fit around a specific holder, send the required optical directions, holder dimensions and sample conditions with your enquiry. If path length, documentation or other dimensional points are critical to your application, include those requirements in the quotation request.
Custom enquiries generally use JGS1 quartz, with prototype batches typically involving 2–4 cells. Feasibility, final specifications, quantity, price and production time are confirmed in the quotation. Modified designs are quoted separately from the listed product.
