Tall 10 mm Quartz Cuvette: Checking Height and Handling Space (MQQSC074)
Custom design guide · MQQSC074
MQQSC074 is 100 mm high with its cap, while retaining a nominal 10 mm path and 8 mL capacity. Its 12.5 mm-square body is familiar in outline, but the taller assembly needs its own check for support, overhead space and removal.
The situations and proposed changes below are planning examples, not completed customer projects.

More sample space, with a 10 mm path
MQQSC074 changes the vertical sample space while keeping a nominal 10 mm path across the body. It may be worth discussing when the method needs the stated 8 mL nominal capacity and the compartment can accommodate a tall cell. The extra height is a handling and fit consideration; it does not create a longer absorption path.
If an enquiry calls for the stated capacity or a tall loading arrangement, show the available compartment height and the beam position together. The working liquid level must suit the measurement region; it is not determined by the overall height alone.

Check the installed and removal positions
The source separates an 80 mm optical body, a 96 mm height including the neck without its cap, and a 100 mm capped height. Use the appropriate state when checking a lid, holder or removal route.
A 12.5 mm-square footprint is only part of the fit. Leave room to grip the body, operate the cap and lift the cell clear of its support. Check the actual window and beam position rather than assuming the beam passes through the middle of the tall body.

Plan filling and cleaning around the height
For a proposed handling trial, consider the whole sequence: grip the cell, load it, close the cap, place it in the holder and lift it out again. A compartment may accept the standing cell yet leave too little room for fingers or vertical removal. Describe those movements and available loading tools when requesting another height; the working volume and wetted closure materials still need to be agreed.
Set a capped-height limit and a sample requirement
If 100 mm is too high for the compartment, state the maximum capped height and the volume the method needs. Keep the target 10 mm path explicit and include the beam and support datums.
Tell us whether capacity or the height limit takes priority. A shorter body, a shorter neck and another closure each change a different part of the layout, and none automatically preserves the same working volume. Include the optical position so the proposed change solves the compartment problem without moving the sample away from the beam.

Checks to agree before ordering
- Envelope: Check capped installation, cap operation and removal of the complete cell.
- Optical position: Check the beam, windows and actual support datum.
- Handling: Review filling, grip, emptying and the proposed working liquid level.
Sample and cleaning conditions
Agree sample and cleaning conditions for the complete item, including wetted caps, seals and fittings. Give chemical identity, concentration, temperature and contact time. Avoid hydrofluoric acid; strong alkalis, heat and prolonged exposure also need review. A JGS1 material label alone does not establish suitable operating conditions.
