C0.22WS is a compact quartz counting flow cell for connected flow measurements that need a fixed 0.2 mm optical path. This integrated JGS1 quartz body combines a 16 µL nominal sample region with two opposed tube ports, so you can plan the optical position and the fluid path together. It is specified for 200–2500 nm with a Two-Way Light layout.

Choose C0.22WS when your setup needs a short fixed path in a small in-line cell rather than an open chamber or demountable assembly. The two opposed connections use 1.5 mm tube OD and 1 mm tube ID, which is useful when you are matching the cell to existing tubing, pump lines or a compact holder. The integrated format also helps when you want the optical cell and flow path to stay in one assembled piece during routine use.

Using this cell

Install the cell with the two tube connections aligned to your liquid path. Fill and flush the assembly gradually so the sample fully wets the measurement region, then check the illuminated area for bubbles before taking readings. The opposed ports are identified by position only, so assign inlet and outlet according to your own system layout.

The stated 16 µL value is the nominal volume of the cell itself, not the total liquid volume of the full flow circuit. Tubing, fittings and any other connected parts add to the total system volume, so priming and flushing should be planned for the assembled line rather than from the cell volume alone.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces and both tube ends before installation. After connecting the cell, run a compatible blank through the line, confirm that the sample region fills evenly and verify that no bubbles remain in the optical path during operation.

Fit and optical alignment

The stated 30 × 15 × 4 mm dimensions apply to the body only. They do not include the projecting tubes, so leave additional clearance on both sides for tubing bends, routing and holder access.

This cell uses a Two-Way Light optical layout. Check that your holder supports the body securely and that the beam passes through the intended window axis. Z Height is not listed for this option, so beam-center alignment should be checked against your fixture if your instrument has a defined beam-height requirement.

Solvents and cleaning

This cell uses Standard 80 adhesive-bonded quartz construction. It is generally suited to room-temperature water-based samples and buffers. Avoid organic samples and organic cleaning solvents with this assembly.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz, and avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning. Specific chemical limits for this selected assembly are not listed here, so check sample, rinse and cleaning compatibility for your own method when more demanding chemicals are involved.
