C022WS2 is an ultra-micro quartz cuvette for UV/Vis measurements that need a short 2 mm optical path and a very small nominal volume. The open-top body lets you load and inspect the sample directly, while the narrow 1 mm channel defines a compact measuring region inside the cell.

This JGS1 quartz cell uses a Two-Way Light layout for transmission through the two optical faces and is specified for 200–2500 nm use. It is a practical choice when you want a small open sample region rather than a stoppered or flow-through format, but still need a rigid cuvette body for bench handling.

Using this cell

Fill the cell carefully from the top so the liquid fully covers the optical path and no bubbles remain in the measuring region. Because the sample region is small, it helps to load slowly and check the liquid visually before placing the cell in the holder.

Use the same orientation for blank and sample measurements, and rinse promptly after use so residue does not dry in the narrow channel. The 20 µL figure is a nominal capacity, not a minimum working volume, so your practical fill level should be based on full beam coverage in your setup.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces for chips, scratches, dust or dried residue.
Rinse with a suitable liquid for your method, then with the measurement solvent if needed.
Test the cell with a blank and confirm that the filled sample covers the illuminated region.
Check that the cell seats consistently in your holder before routine measurements.

Fit and optical alignment

The body dimensions are 4.5 × 12.5 × 35 mm for the cuvette body only. These dimensions are useful for checking slot width, depth and vertical clearance in compact holders or micro-cell fixtures.

Z Height is not established for this exact option. If your instrument or holder depends on a defined beam-center height, check that point before ordering rather than relying on overall body size alone.

Solvents and cleaning

This cuvette uses Standard 80 adhesive-bonded quartz construction. For this construction, routine room-temperature water-based samples and buffers are the safer selection direction. Avoid organic samples and organic cleaning solvents with this cell.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz, and avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning methods. If your method involves aggressive reagents, long contact times or specialised cleaning liquids, check suitability for the complete assembly before use.
